Chris has researched the building for over 20 years; interviewing its architects, engineers, builders and artists. He has and continues to collect archive materials on its design and construction and successfully entered it to the 2007 Concrete Society Awards. 

Chris's post-graduate research thesis was on the market's development. He has published articles and academic papers, given lectures, mentored artists, architects and designers and included it in his book Huddersfield in 50 Buildings.
